About Karah Bruce-Larkin has been living and working in Portland, Oregon since 2000. She holds a BFA in Ceramics from Oregon College of Art and Craft. Karah works with ceramic sculpture focusing on experimental dipping and mold-making processes. Her process is about the transformation of objects to symbols, these appear as memories from experiences. "Through archiving, collecting, casting and dipping, I witness the disappearance and transformation of form, from solid object into a memory and fossilization. By encasing and burning out the discarded object, I am left with the shell of of that object, appearing as a thin, translucent gem. These objects are used as symbols of transformation and time-like remnants piled on the floor. I make memories of objects.
